Personal Growth… or Personal Pressure

Personal growth is a beautiful pursuit. It helps us heal, learn, and become more intentional about the lives we're creating. But sometimes, without realizing it, the desire to grow can quietly become another source of pressure.

During our conversation, we explored the difference between healthy growth and unhealthy striving, and how easy it is to begin believing we should always be improving, healing, optimizing, or figuring ourselves out. Instead of experiencing more freedom, we can unintentionally create more pressure.

One of the key ideas from today's call was this:

"The purpose of personal growth isn't to become a better human being. It's to become a more fully expressed version of the one you've always been."

Our hope is that this conversation reminded you that growth isn't about becoming someone different. It's about uncovering and expressing more of who you truly are.

We talked about:

  • The difference between personal growth and personal pressure.

  • How "shoulds" can quietly replace joy and curiosity.

  • The difference between growing from freedom versus growing from fear.

  • Trusting yourself and the work you've already done.

  • Celebrating progress instead of constantly focusing on what's next.

  • Allowing growth to feel lighter, more joyful, and more life-giving.
