Reflection Grounding Exercise
Settle In: Close your eyes or soften your gaze. Take a deep breath in through your
nose, hold for a moment, and exhale slowly through your mouth. Feel your feet
rooted to the ground, steady and supported.
Anchor in the Present: Place your hands on your heart or your lap. As you breathe,
silently say, “I am here. I am present.” Let your awareness rest in this moment, free
from distraction.
Reflect on the Year: With your next breath, invite a memory of something you
accomplished, learned, or experienced this past year that made you proud or
grateful. Picture it vividly or feel the emotions it brought you. As you breathe out,
release any tension or unfinished energy tied to this year, silently affirming, “I release
the past with love and purpose.”
Close with Intention: On your final breath, plant a small seed of intention for the
coming year, such as “I move forward with clarity and peace.” Open your eyes,
feeling grounded and ready to end the year with purpose.
-
I always end each year with purpose and clear intention.
-
Intentionally ending 2024 in a way that feels purposeful and fulfilling. This is a chance to
pause, reflect, and close the year with intention, gratitude.
-
Creating closure allows us to celebrate progress, embrace lessons learned, and lay a
strong foundation for 2025, and it might even help to reduce regrets or lingering
unfinished business as we end the year.
-
Clarity: Recognizing what went well and what didn’t go as well as we’d hoped.
Confidence: Ending the year with a sense of completion so we can move into the new year with our head held high.
Growth: Noticing any patterns identifying the things that we learned and celebrating our wins and all the ways that we grew
Motivation: Knowing what we want to take with us moving forward and what we can let go of so we can have fresh new energy for 2025!

What are three things you’re most grateful for from 2024? (Maybe think through each season – to help jog your memory)
What were the three most significant accomplishments/milestones/wins for you this year? (Did you get out of bed most days? Did you get more organized? Finish a degree? Celebrate a milestone in business?)
What do you need less of in your life, and what do you need more of (LESS; saying yes to things that are not in alignment with where you are going & MORE: maybe a life-giving habit do you want to add to your life?)
What old stories no longer serve you and need to be retired? What do you want to leave behind. (Stop thinking about_____, talking about_____) Say out loud:” I officially retire these old stories now!”
What is one intention that you want to carry into or create for 2025? (At the end of 2025 how do you WANT to FEEL?)
What word are you leaving behind for 2024 (overwhelm, fear, lack, comparison) & what word are you taking into 2025?
-
Closing your eyes... take a deep breath. Let your body relax and imagine you’re standing at the beginning of a long timeline stretching out before you. Starting in January of this year, and looking down this path, you see the months unfolding one by one.
Begin by walking through the first few months—what were the moments that stood out to you? The successes you’re proud of, the challenges you faced. Take a moment to reflect on those key events and the lessons they brought you.
Now, continue down the timeline to where you are right now. What have you learned about yourself along the way? What strengths have you discovered?
As you stand in this present moment, feel grounded and centered. Take a deep breath, and now, look ahead to 2025. What do you want to step into? How do you want to show up in the new year—focused, confident, and ready to move forward?
Picture yourself walking into 2025 with clarity and purpose. Feel the energy and confidence in every step. Spending some time really thinking about and visualizing what it is you DO want this year. What you think about you bring about. Picture it, feel it, color it in.
When you’re ready, slowly bring your awareness back to the present moment, carrying with you the lessons, the strength, and the vision for what’s next.
