Wrappin’ Up the Year on Purpose

We slowed down to reflect on the past year with intention—to acknowledge how far we’ve come, honor what we’ve learned, and consciously decide what we want to carry forward. Instead of rushing into what’s next, we took a pause to wrap up the year on purpose—creating space for clarity, gratitude, and renewal.

This session was an opportunity to integrate the year’s experiences, celebrate personal growth, and open ourselves to new beginnings with peace, gratitude, and purpose.

As you watch or listen, use the prompts below the video to follow along and stay in motion.

  • Take a deep inhale and exhale.

Bring awareness to your feet—your toes, the soles, the tops.

Notice all sensations: warmth, coolness, tingling, stillness.

Let whatever is there simply be. There is no right or wrong.

Shift awareness to the full length of your legs.

    Observe whatever is present.

Now move your attention to your hands—fingers, palms, backs of the hands.

    Notice sensations without judgment.

Gently move up to your arms, observing the inside and outside.

Let each inhale bring in a sense of space.

Let each exhale bring a sense of ease.

Direct your attention to your hips and pelvis—front, sides, and back—

    just noticing what’s there.

Move upward to your belly and chest, your ribs, your collarbones.

Feel your back—lower, middle, and upper.

With each inhale, create space; with each exhale, soften.

You’re not trying to change anything—only creating expansiveness and sweetness around your experience.

Bring awareness to your shoulders and neck—inhaling to expand, exhaling to release tension.

Finally, focus on your face and head—jaw, mouth, lips, cheeks, eyes, temples, ears, scalp, and hair.

Now sense your entire body—from the soles of your feet to the crown of your head.

Notice everything that’s present without labeling it good or bad, comfortable or uncomfortable.

    Let your inhales create spaciousness.

Let your exhales bring softness and ease.

  • This exercise guided us to explore what we’re ready to let go of and what we want to invite in:

    • On one page (Release): we wrote down habits, fears, old stories, or patterns that have run their course.

    • On another page (Receive): we identified the energy, intentions, or beliefs we’re ready to welcome into the new year.

    • What drained my energy this year?

    • What beliefs or behaviors kept me small?

    • What am I ready to forgive—myself or someone else—for?

    • What qualities do I want to embody more fully in the year ahead?

    • How do I want to feel as I move into this next season?

We noticed the connection between the two lists—the truth that what we release makes room for what we’re ready to receive.

  • I release the old and welcome the new.
